Herb Parham & Family Donate to ACE
Hannibal, MO – Affordable Community Education is pleased to announce the donation of $100,000 by the Herb Parham Family for a new Hannibal-area community college. The Parham’s donation will be used to help build a community college for Hannibal and the surrounding area.
ACE has launched a $4 million campaign to establish a permanent community college campus for Moberly Area Community College (MACC) Hannibal Area Higher Education Center. “We are really pleased with the generosity of the Parham’s,” states board member Sally Poole, “Our response from the community has been very positive.” MACC has been offering classes in the Hannibal Regional Office Center since 2000. Enrollment has continued to increase each semester, and currently the community college is outgrowing its existing location at 109 Virginia Street, in Hannibal.
ACE is a citizen group interested in helping to expand college classes in the Hannibal area. The realization is that there is a need for continued education in our area. ACE, while teaming up with MACC, is trying to bring a cost effective option to students who want affordable community education.
