Meet Joanna
"My name is Joanna O’Brien, and I graduated from Palmyra High School in 2003. I received the A+ Scholarship upon graduation, and I decided to attend Moberly Area Community College in Hannibal. While attending MACC, I took a full load of classes, and I was able to work a part-time job. The Hannibal campus was convenient for me because I was able to save money by living at home.
In May 2005, I graduated from MACC with an Associate of Arts Degree. After graduating, I transferred to Hannibal LaGrange College to complete the teacher education program. All of the classes that I took at MACC transferred to Hannibal LaGrange without any problems. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in May 2007. If it weren’t for MACC-Hannibal, I might not have been able to pursue my higher education. Thanks to the Hannibal campus, I was able to go to college without getting into a lot of debt. Following my graduation from HLG, I was able to teach summer school at Palmyra Elementary School. My plans for the future are to live in Palmyra with my husband and teach at Highland Elementary School." |
